2018 Leafs, Caps, NHL Stadium Series Logos Unveiled

The 2018 NHL Stadium Series logos were unveiled today including the logos the Toronto Maple Leafs and Washington Capitals will use for the game.

It was fitting that the logos were unveiled on Veteran's Day since this seasons Stadium Series logo is heavily inspired by the U.S. Naval Academy. See the image below (courtesy of sportslogos.net) to see how the different parts of the logo are tied to the U.S. Naval Academy...

The Leafs logo is exactly the same as their current primary logo except that it has a thick blue stripe around it which makes you wonder if their jersey will include a fat stripe beneath the logo (like their 2017 Centennial Classic jersey). The Capitals will basically use their current primary logo as well minus a few letters. Obviously, this spells out their nickname "Caps" which is similar to how Tampa Bay or Ottawa have used logos and jerseys with their nicknames on it: BOLTS and SENS. It is still unclear which team will wear white for the game so I'll leave that for you to debate.

Toronto & Washington will play on March 3rd, 2018 at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, MD.
